Whereas, the University Faculty Senate Committee on Promotions and Tenure is charged with recommending to the Senate University-wide policies and procedures relating to promotions and tenure and shall advise the faculties of the colleges and departments and the President of the University on the formulations of these policies,

And

Whereas it is in the best interest of all members of the university community for the faculty handbook to offer clear and accurate guidance concerning the promotion and tenure process

And

Whereas for the past two years, the University Faculty Senate Committee on Promotions and Tenure has been working on revisions to the Promotions and Tenure policies in the Faculty Handbook,

Be it therefore

Resolved, that the Promotions and Tenure Committee be allowed to continue their work on revising the Faculty Handbook concerning Promotions and Tenure policies and that this work not be delegated to an ad hoc committee of the faculty senate’s appointment.
