Subject: Proposed Minor in Public Health
Hello Michael and Kathy,
The University Faculty Senate's Undergraduate Studies Committee and
Coordinating Committee on Education have approved the Public Health
Minor. The Executive Committee of the University Faculty Senate in
reviewing the proposed minor noted that there were three new HLPR/UAPP courses
(HLPR/UAPP21, HLPR/UAPP222, and HLPR/UAPP233) that were being proposed for the
minor and would like to have it confirmed that the your Colleges are willing to
commit the resources to have these courses taught. The concern of the
Executive Committee centered on the faculty resource issue that was raised in
the proposal's implementation plan that stated "the introductory courses
will be taught pending faculty hires which are being pursued by Deans Matt and Gamel-McCormick".
