List program changes for curriculum revisions:

Add HESC433, Applied Physiology of Activity, as an alternative to HESC430, Physiology of Activity.

List new courses required for the new or revised curriculum:

(Be aware that approval of the curriculum is dependent upon these courses successfully passing through the Course Challenge list. If there are no new courses enter “None”)

none

Other affected units:

(List other departments affected by this new or revised curriculum.  Attach permission from the affected units.  If no other unit is affected, enter “None”)

none

Rationale:

(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the curriculum or program.)

HESC433, Applied Physiology of Activity, has replaced HESC430, Physiology of Activity, as a required course for Health and Physical Education majors and Health Behavior Science majors. HESC430 and HESC433 have content overlap and cannot both be taken for credit. Since some students in the Strength and Conditioning minor will be from majors that require HESC430 and some will be from majors that require HESC433, it is appropriate for the requirement within the minor to be either of these courses.

Program Requirements:

(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the Course Catalog.  If this is a revision, be sure to indicate the changes being made to the present curriculum.)
