Prof. Morling (Beth),
Following
discussions with Deans Chajes and Watson, I am
confident that the resources exist at the university to support the proposed BS
in biomedical engineering. These resources – specifically to support the
required chemistry courses - will be reallocated from areas that are currently
under-enrolled.
It should
be clear to the Faculty Senate committees that we are not proposing an increase
in the overall number of students at UD with this new program, thus the net
fiscal burden on the university by offering this new program is unchanged.
