RESOLUTION FOR
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN M.A. IN ECONOMIC EDUCATION
Whereas,
the

the College of Business and Economics offers a successful M.A. degree in
Economics that provides students with the necessary
knowledge to be innovative and well-informed economics professionals and
researchers, and
Whereas,
the College of Education and Public Policy offers a successful M.A. degree in Education
that provides students with the necessary knowledge to be innovative and
well-informed education professionals and researchers, and
Whereas,
there is an increasing need for economists and educators to collaborate to
conduct research and inform economic education policy at both a state and
national level, and
Whereas,
a masters degree in Economic Education will allow
students to simultaneously pursue graduate level education in both economics
and education, be it therefore
Resolved,
that the Faculty Senate approves provisionally, for five years, the
establishment of a joint M.A. program in Economic Education.
