List new courses required for the new or revised curriculum. How do they support the overall program objectives of the major/minor/concentrations)?

There are no actual program changes.  The numbering and home unit for one of the required courses has changed.  The course entitled, “Teaching English as a Second Language” was previously homed in the Department of Linguistics and had the number LING 698.

The course change submitted to the Faculty Senate Course Challenge List will transfer primary ownership of the course from Linguistics to the School of Education, and the new number will be EDUC 672 with the same title and course content.  It will be cross-listed by the Linguistics Department as LING 672.

Explain, when appropriate, how this new/revised curriculum supports the 10 goals of undergraduate education: http://www.ugs.udel.edu/gened/

None

Describe the rationale for the proposed program change(s):

(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the curriculum or program.)

The M.A. in TESL program must be changed to reflect the new number for the required course.  The old course was 3 credits and that has not changed.  Thus, there is no change in the overall number of credits required in the program.

Program Requirements:
